Did he deserve the taser, I ask myself. Not sure on my answer.

Yes and no. With the facts known, no he didn't deserve the taser. However, the cop wasn't the regular cop, and the student had long hair and a full beard. Thus, the cop didn't know he was a student. Some guy comes running naked through a school, you subdue him. So yes, the cop reacted appropriately for the situation.
