Glad to hear you're in the spirit. Tapered roller bearings rock from a mechanical engineering perspective but ball bearings are very cost effective & are probably totally sufficient for what you're up to. I can't recommend any brands as I have always just ran with stock & never had any problems with them. Are you having problems with yours now are are you just looking to upgrade?

What would you recommend for steering upper(header) bearings? I will probably go with tapered rollers over ball, but I was just wondering if you had any suggestions on good brands.

I'm really looking forward to getting some riding in this season and am on track to getting my bike back to stock condition. I'm starting my pre-season workout / training tomorrow as I just bought a gym membership yesterday. I'm also looking in to a helmet cam but that's another conversation in itself.
