Columbus Police AIS is investigating a fatal crash that occurred around 10:30am Thursday at 1405 N. Cassady Avenue.
Officials say it looks as if the female driver lost control and struck a pole. She was thrown from the bike before it continued into the side of Waffle House restaurant.
Columbus Fire Department medic 20 transported the 47-year-old woman to Grant Hospital where she was later pronounced dead.
The intersection of N. Cassady Avenue and De Manye Road was closed closed to traffic for a short time.

3.Other riders witness the accident?

Ok I got the information first hand. The rider must have been riding alone. An employee at Waffle House went out for a smoke and found the woman laying by the building. The employee thought she was in a fight and called police. After the story aired this morning the motorcycle group she belonged to showed up at the hospital and started causing problems. I'm not sure why they showed up at the hospital causing issues but they did. I also do not know which group it was.

RIP rider.

COLUMBUS, Ohio – A woman has died in a motorcycle accident in east Columbus.

UPDATE
Donna L. Evans, 48, was operating a motorcycle alone at the intersection of Demonye Dr. & N. Cassady Ave. when, for unknown reasons, Mrs. Evans left the roadway and did loose control, crashing the motorcycle on the north-west corner of this intersection. Mrs. Evans was transported to Grant Hospital by CFD Medic #20 and was later pronounced dead. Alcohol is not suspect as a factor in this crash. This is the 54th traffic fatality for the city of Columbus this year.
